الميرة: الطعام يمتاره الإنسان، يقال: مار أهله يميرهم. قال تعالى: ونمير أهلنا [يوسف/ 65]. والغيرة والميرة يتقاربان .

el-Mîra: insanın (dışarıdan) tedarik ettiği yiyecek/erzaktır. "Mâra ehlehû yemîruhum" (ailesine erzak getirdi/tedarik etti) denilir. Yüce Allah şöyle buyurdu: "Ailemize erzak getiririz" [12:65]. el-Ğîra ile el-Mîra (anlamca) birbirine yakındır.
