قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةً ۖ قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَـٰثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا رَمْزًا ۗ وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ كَثِيرًا وَسَبِّحْ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ وَٱلْإِبْكَـٰرِ

Translation

He said: "O my Lord! Give me a Sign!" "Thy Sign," was the answer, "Shall be that thou shalt speak to no man for three days but with signals. Then celebrate the praises of thy Lord again and again, and glorify Him in the evening and in the morning."

Zekeriyya: "Rabbim! (oğlum olacağına dair) bana bir alâmet ver" dedi. Allah da buyurdu ki: "Senin için alâmet, insanlara üç gün, işaretten başka söz söyleyememendir. Ayrıca Rabbini çok an, sabah akşam tesbih et".

(Zekeriya) “Rabbim! (Bu konuda) bana bir delil ver.” demişti. (Melek) “Senin delilin, işaret (etmen) dışında insanlarla üç gün konuşamamandır.” demişti. Rabbini çok an; akşam sabah (O’nu) tesbih et (yücelt)!

He said: My Lord! Appoint a token for me. (The angel) said: The token unto thee (shall be) that thou shalt not speak unto mankind three days except by signs. Remember thy Lord much, and praise (Him) in the early hours of night and morning.
