Translation

And behold, We said to the angels: "Bow down to Adam" and they bowed down. Not so Iblis: he refused and was haughty: He was of those who reject Faith.

Ve o zaman meleklere: "Âdem'e secde edin!" dedik, hemen secde ettiler. Yalnız İblis dayattı, kibrine yediremedi, inkârcılardan oldu.

Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır · TR · public-domain

Hani meleklere “Âdem için (Allah’a) secde edin.” demiştik; onlar da hemen secde etmişti. İblis hariç. (Çünkü o) yüz çevirmiş, kibirlenmiş ve kâfirlerden olmuştu.

Mehmet Okuyan · TR · all-rights-reserved

And when We said unto the angels: Prostrate yourselves before Adam, they fell prostrate, all save Iblis. He demurred through pride, and so became a disbeliever.
