وَدَّ كَثِيرٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لَوْ يَرُدُّونَكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ إِيمَـٰنِكُمْ كُفَّارًا حَسَدًا مِّنْ عِندِ أَنفُسِهِم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ فَٱعْفُوا۟ وَٱصْفَحُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِىَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Translation

Quite a number of the People of the Book wish they could Turn you (people) back to infidelity after ye have believed, from selfish envy, after the Truth hath become Manifest unto them: But forgive and overlook, Till Allah accomplish His purpose; for Allah Hath power over all things.

Ehli kitaptan birçoğu arzu etmektedir ki, sizi imanınızdan sonra çevirip kâfir etsinler: Hak kendilerine iyice belirdikten sonra bile sırf nefsaniyetlerinden ve kıskançlıktan dolayı bunu yaparlar. Buna rağmen siz şimdi af ile, hoşgörüyle davranın tâ Allah emrini verinceye kadar. Şüphe yok ki Allah her şeye kâdirdir.

Kitap ehlinden çoğu, gerçek kendilerine apaçık belli olduktan sonra, içlerindeki kıskançlıktan ötürü, sizi imanınızdan vazgeçirip küfre döndürmek istediler. (Yine de) siz Allah (onlar hakkındaki) emrini getirinceye kadar (onları) affedin; hoşgörün! Şüphesiz ki Allah her şeye gücü yetendir.

Many of the people of the Scripture long to make you disbelievers after your belief, through envy on their own account, after the truth hath become manifest unto them. Forgive and be indulgent (toward them) until Allah give command. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things.
