But when good (times) came, they said, "This is due to us;" When gripped by calamity, they ascribed it to evil omens connected with Moses and those with him! Behold! in truth the omens of evil are theirs in Allah's sight, but most of them do not understand!

Fakat kendilerine iyilik geldiği zaman, işte bu bizim hakkımızdır, dediler, başlarına bir kötülük gelince de, işte bu Musa ile yanındakilerin uğursuzluğu yüzünden, dediler. İyi bilin ki, onların uğursuzluğu Allah katındandır. Lâkin çoğu bunu bilmezler.

Onlara bir iyilik geldiğinde “Bu, sadece bizim hakkımızdır.” demişlerdi. Kendilerine bir kötülük geldiğinde onu da Musa ve beraberindekiler nedeniyle (gelen) uğursuzluğa bağlarlar(dı). Dikkat edin! Onların uğursuzluğu Allah katında(n)dır fakat çoğu bilmez.
